By participating on the Integrate Everything with IOTA you accept the following terms and conditions defined for this event

Eligibility

You are eligible to enter if you meet the following requirements at time of entry:

  • - You are at least 13 years of age
  • - You are not involved in the execution or administration of this contest.
  • - You are not an immediate family member or household member of a IOT2TANGLE employee.

Submission requirements

To be eligible for judging, you must meet ALL of the following requirements unless otherwise stated:

  • - You must be registered as a participant for this Hackathon.
  • - You must provide work that integrates IoT devices with the IOTA Protocol.
  • - Your entry must be your own original work.
  • - Your project must be open-source and licenced under Apache 2.0 Licence.
  • - By entering a submission to this contest on behalf of a team, you acknowledge that you are the designated representative authorized to act on behalf of your team.
  • - Your project must be submitted by Nov 25, 2020 at 11:59 PM CET.

Hardware/Software Requirements

  • - This Hackathon is calling for open-source integrations between IoT projects and the IOTA Protocol.
  • - Projects using Arduino boards (Atmel microcontrollers such as ATmega 8, 128, 328) will be rejected.
  • - All integrations between IoT Devices that do not use IOTA Streams will be rejected.
  • - Your project must be written in English.
  • - Projects must have a name, short description and cover image.
  • - Projects must be available as public Github repositories by the end of the Hackathon to be judged (Nov 25, 2020 at 11:59 PM CET).
  • - Projects need to include BoM, Source code, Schematics, and Step-by-step instructions on how to build the solution from scratch as README.md

Judging criteria

By participating on the Integrate Everything with IOTA Hackathon you accept the veredict of the Jury regarding which projects are considered as winners and resign to all rights to present claims to the event organizers or the Jury members regarding the criteria used deciding the winners.

Your project will be judged according to the rubric below.

  • - Project Documentation (How easy is for others to have it running).
  • - Quality and well commented Code.
  • - Creativity
  • - Your implementation and contribution to the Streams Gateway (adding new connectivity is a big bonus)
  • - Solutions for Smart Cities, Smart Agriculture, Supply Chain Tracking, E-Health and Environmental Control are some of the projects we would like to evaluate

How are prizes awarded

The Top 5 winners will receive the amount of dollars in IOTA Tokens according to their position in the podium (see bellow) within one week after the winners announcement. Contestants will have to provide the organizers with an IOTA Address in order to receive the prize. Those that do not send a receiver address within 5 days after the winners announcement will lose all rights to claim their prize in IOTA. The amount of IOTA tokens sent to each of the 5 winners will be calculated according to the market price for December 8th, 2020. Bitfinex prize will be used as reference.

USD Prizes in IOTA Token
First: USD 4000 in IOTA
Second: USD 2500 in IOTA
Third: USD 1300 in IOTA
Fourth: USD 1000 in IOTA
Fifth: USD 900 in IOTA

All the IoT Devices included on the prize will be shipped to the participants postal address provided on the registration form. The Hackathon organizers are not responsible for issues that may occur with shipping to countries with blocks/barriers that do not allow the products to arrive (i.e. Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Sudan, Syria, etc.).

Access to the 5 IOT ONE Academy IOTA Developers Courses will be granted to the winners within the 30 days following the winners announcement. Contestants will have up to 3 months to log in to the IOT ONE Academy platform and start the courses. Participants that do not log in to the IOT ONE Academy platform within 90 days after the access is granted will lose their access together with any rights to place claims against this contest organizers or IOT ONE Academy


Sponsors obligations and responsability

All the companies sponsoring this contest have helped the organizers by providing IoT devices manufactured by them. Bosch Connected Devices and Solutions, Espressif, STMicroelectronics, Senseering, VASS Company, IOT ONE Academy and the IOTA Foundation (the sponsors, from now on) have no responsability on the Hackathon result and are not subject to any sort of claims or demands by the Hackathon participants.

By participating on this Hackathon you accept the Terms and Conditions presented here and resign all rights to present claims to the Organizers, the Jury members, and the Sponsors regarding the contest outcome, the prizes offered to the winners, the criteria applied by the Jury to select the winners and any shipping problems related to the current global COVID situation or to your country custom policies.
